It was great to meet you too--I would have loved to have heard more about your DVD. Maybe you'll have copies available for sale soon! It would be really interesting to see what you all included, regardless of your success with "diffusion"!
Marianne, thanks so much for such a positive intro. Very glad to hear you enjoyed seeing my work online. I look forward to working live with you tomorrow!
That's awesome, Marianne - what a great idea! I love the idea of capturing oral histories. I honeymooned in Alaska a few years ago and was privileged to meet a few members of the First People community. One woman was Yup'ik Indian and working on a recording of the oral histories recited by women for generations down her mother's line. She wanted to preserve them - exactly how her mother taught her, and her mother's mother before her - in their native language. I didn't understand a word of what I was listening too, but I was moved by the idea of it - so much cultural understanding, so much context - just really incredible. So, yes, anyway - looking forward to meeting you! :)
And, of course, I always enjoy a little East Coast. ;-) ~ trish
